MARCH PRINT COMPETITION JUDGE AND GUEST SPEAKER FOR MARCH 12TH MEETING – 6:30 PM
We are pleased to have Linda Henderson of Conway, Arkansas, as our judge for the March 2019 print competition that will be exhibited at the Woodlands Auditorium. Linda will also be our guest speaker at the March 12th meeting to include comments about our photograph submissions.
Linda’s photography interests began at an early age when she picked up a Kodak Brownie Film camera at the age of 10 and has yet to put a camera down. During her teenage years she started shooting single lens reflex cameras. Her first SLR camera was a Minolta T202 35 mm film camera purchased at Sears. Later she began shooting Nikon F model film cameras. In 2007 she entered the digital photography age with a Nikon D 80 and started learning Adobe Photoshop. As her digital camera skills have increased she has upgraded her equipment and now shoots a Nikon D 800 and a Fuji X-T2 mirrorless system.
Linda’s favorite subjects are from rural Arkansas and nature. Her photography interests include capturing Arkansas’ changing rural landscape of old barns, bridges, signs, churches landscape and nature photography. She is an avid night photographer and continues to learn the art and process of low-light photography.
Linda has been published in Arkansas Life, The Arkansas Times, and Boy Scouts of America’s, Boy’s Life. Linda is a Getty contributor and has had photographs used on calendars, post cards and greeting cards. One of Linda’s photographs was on the cover of the Arkansas Democrate-Gazette’s, Capture Arkansas Book IIl. She was also published in the most recent Capture Arkansas Book. Her photos were featured images at the Bedford’s PhotoExpo. She is was an Artist in Residence at Art on the Green Studio in Conway. Linda’s work is a part of the permanent collection of artifacts related to the Cadron Settlement at the Faulkner County Museum. Linda is a contributing writer and photographer for The 501 Life Magazine. She chronicles her and her husband’s weekend travels through pictures and stories in a monthly article called Traveling in the 50l area code of Central Arkansas. The monthly article includes photography tips and tutorials. She was featured recently as a Contributor for Arkansas Life on Night Photography. Linda has been a guest presenter for The Conway Photography Club, Arkansas Outdoor Photography Club, Photography Club of the Ozark’s, and Bedford’s PhotoExpo.
