Competition Overview
The primary objectives of club competitions are (a) to provide a forum that will encourage club members to want to improve their individual photography skills and (b) to showcase the diverse images and compositions the members choose to make and submit for the contest topics or categories. While we employ judges for each of the competitions to provide feedback and scores on the submitted images, and then recognize the highest scores for each competition and for the year, all members that improve their skills in the process and have fun along the way are winners.
All members in good standing are encouraged to participate and to ask more knowledgeable camera club members or others for help in understanding their camera, photographic techniques, post processing, and printing. Attending monthly meetings, field trips, special events, and workshops can also help members enhance and improve their skills.
We encourage members to enter recent images taken that satisfy the topic; however, older images are permitted. All images submitted must have been set up and made the member.
You may not submit the same image or photo setup for more than one contest in the year. Prior year images that received Hot Springs Village Camera Club awards may not be used.
