Skill Level Criteria
Camera club members who enter the contest are asked to assess and classify their photographic skills at one of the Skill Levels as outlined below:

- Skill Level 1 (Beginner) are those new to photography, and do not understand how to manually adjust exposure settings and the focus point on their camera in actual practice regardless of the size or complexity of their camera.
- Skill Level 2 (Intermediate) understand basic photographic techniques, the concept of the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO), and how to effectively focus using their camera.
- Skill Level 3 (Advanced, relative to other members of the club) have developed a greater degree of proficiency in the use of their camera, photographic techniques and composition, and post processing techniques.
- The Photo Contest team has the right to promote members at the beginning of a new year based on their previous year’s results if they topped their Skill Level and participated in at least 50% of the contests or received Photographer of the Year for their skill level
NOTE: The Club slide show will recognize top scorers in digital contest slide presentations according to the skill levels and number of entries:
